Diploma in Computer Application (DCA) - 60 Days

Course Overview:

This course is designed for beginners to gain fundamental skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Students will learn essential tools and techniques to effectively use these applications for personal, academic, or professional purposes.

Week 1-2: Microsoft Word (Basic)

  • Introduction to Microsoft Word

    • Overview of the interface: Ribbon, Tabs, Groups
    • Creating a new document
    • Saving and opening documents
    • Document views and navigation
  • Basic Text Formatting

    • Font styles, size, color
    • Bold, Italic, Underline
    • Alignment: Left, Center, Right, Justify
    • Line and paragraph spacing
    • Bullets and numbering
  • Working with Pages

    • Page setup: Margins, Orientation, Size
    • Page breaks and section breaks
    • Header and footer
    • Inserting page numbers
  • Inserting Elements

    • Tables: Inserting, modifying tables
    • Images: Inserting, resizing, and positioning

Week 3-4: Microsoft Excel (Basic)

  • Introduction to Microsoft Excel

    • Overview of Excel interface: Worksheets, Workbooks
    • Creating and saving Excel files
    • Basic navigation and cell referencing

    • Formatting cells: Text, numbers, currency
    • Adjusting row and column sizes

    • Basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

Week 7-8: Project Work and Assessment

Course Outcomes:

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Create and format professional documents in Microsoft Word.
  2. Organize and analyze data in Microsoft Excel using basic functions and charts.
  3. Design engaging and structured presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.

 

Eligibility Criteria for Diploma in Computer Application (DCA) - 60 Days

To enroll in this 60-day DCA program, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  1. Educational Qualification:

    • Minimum Qualification: Completion of 10th standard or equivalent.
    • Candidates with higher educational qualifications (PUC/12th grade, Diploma, or Graduation) are also eligible.
  2. Basic Knowledge:

    • No prior knowledge of computers is required, as this is a beginner-level course.
    • However, a basic understanding of English (reading and comprehension) is recommended to navigate the software interface.
  3. Age Limit:

    • There is no specific age limit for this course. Candidates from all age groups are welcome to apply.
  4. Interest in Learning:

    • Candidates should have a genuine interest in learning Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as improving their computer proficiency.
